Alec Watson

Alec Watson is a trial attorney at Sunset West Legal Group, PC, focused on trial and litigation in catastrophic injury, premises liability, and wrongful death matters.

He is admitted to practice law in California (Bar No. 352355). Mr. Watson earned his Juris Doctor from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, in 2023, where he was elected to the Order of the Coif, received the Scholarship & Leadership Award, served as Chief Articles & Symposium Editor of the Law Review, and competed on the mock trial team. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from California State University, Sacramento, in 2020.

Background

Before joining Sunset West Legal Group, Mr. Watson served for two and a half years as a Deputy Public Defender in Los Angeles. He was in the courtroom arguing motions every day and litigated hundreds of cases. He took six jury trials to verdict, winning four, resolved many more cases favorably on the eve of or during trial, and secured outright dismissals in dozens of cases through aggressive litigation.

Since July 2026, Mr. Watson has contributed to settlements secured by Team Teller, the firm’s trial team.

Approach

Mr. Watson became a lawyer to fight for the people no one else would fight for. He believes in the underdog, and that everyday people deserve a fair shot at justice against big entities. As a public defender, that meant fighting for fair treatment of defendants in the criminal justice system. Today, it means fighting for injured clients seeking justice against insurance companies.

Outside the Office

A general outdoor enthusiast, Mr. Watson enjoys running, hiking, camping, and backpacking. He is also an avid reader.
